A Quilter's Gathering
Nashua, New Hampshire

There were several Celtic quilts entered in the quilt competition at this show for 2007. Scarlett took pictures of each and here they are:

Fran Kordek's Celtic quilt, Life Cycles.

#70 - Life Cycles by Fran Kordek of Elkins, WV. The Celtic Tree of Life (copyright by Welsh artist Jen Delyth, used with permission) is surrounded by my Celtic design of a circle of seasons.

Jan Kenefick's quilt, A Celtic Garden.

#61 - A Celtic Garden by Janice Kenefick of Norton, MA. This Celtic Knot shows the overs and unders, the ups and downs, the circles within; life is never a straight line. No matter what life throws one's way, may we all stop and smell the roses. Life is too short not to!

Closeup of Pat Harrison's quilt, Pearls of Fire.

Closeup of #51 - Pearls of Fire by Pat Harrison of Exeter, RI. The design for this whole cloth was inspired by a trip through Southern Ireland in Sept. 2006, where I fell in love with all things Celtic. Trapunto, hot fix and string pearl embellishment, longarm machine quilted and piped binding.

Elsie Campbell's quilt, Aunt Mimi's Flower Garden.

#21 Aunt Mimi's Flower Garden by Elsie M. Campbell of Dodge City, KS. Over the course of 3 years, I developed the technique for the Celtic work and took classes from sue Nickels and Diane Gaudinski for the applique and machine quilting - then practiced, practiced & practiced until I got it!

Here's a closeup of the Celtic knotwork:

This knot was made with 1/8" wide tape!
